Historically, the leadership of our nation has turned to Almighty God for strength and guidance. It is in this spiritual tradition that we hold the Michigan Prayer Breakfast, patterned after the Presidential Prayer Breakfast held annually in Washington, DC. Inaugurated in 1952 by leaders in the United States Senate and House of Representatives, such events are now held annually in nearly every state and in numerous communities.

This event is sponsored by an Ad Hoc committee of individual citizens who are concerned about the spiritual welfare of the state and its people. At this time of fellowship and prayer together, it is hoped that individuals, families, businesses, governmental agencies and other societal institutions will be influenced in a positive manner.
